OMG!!! Former CAF president Issa Hayatou just got banned by FIFA ( SEE DETAILS)

FIFA has given former CAF president Issa Hayatou a one year ban from all footballing activities and a fine of $33,000 for his role in CAF’s scandalous $1billion TV and marketing rights deal with France’s Lagardere Sports.

The Cameroonian was a long time FIFA vice president and was once FIFA interim president for four months before Gianni Infantino was elected.

He was CAF president for 29 years before loosing CAF presidency to Madascar’s Ahmad Ahmad in 2017.
Ahmad Ahmad is currently serving a two year ban given by FIFA after he was found guilty of financial wrongdoing by FIFA ethics committee which made him unable to stand for a second term.
Ahmad was replaced by South Africa’s Motsepe who was elected in unopposed in March after other candidates stood aside in a deal brokered by Infantino.

Issa Hayatou had many Africans with mixed feeling during his reign as CAF president with some saying he brought the development of African football and others saying he was corrupt.
