Biography of Chilli Wawaye Cameroonian artist from Nso. Born Fonyuy Claudethe Mbinkar well know as Chilli Wawaye hails from Kumbo in the North West Region of Cameroon, Central Africa. She is a singer, songwriter andcul cultural promoter of indigenous sounds and culture.

Her grace and vibrancy projects the rich ethnic music from Nso. Her serene vocals Resonates with her flair of Cultural displays and glamourous stage presence. Chilli started music at an early age in church and in high school she led a four girls’ accapella group called the Unique Singers. While in university, She spent some time with the university of Yaoundé 1 Choir.

In 2013 she decided to go on a solo professional path where she took musicas a career and in 2014, under the Afro Entertainment/Colorful Dreams

Project she released her debut Album, titled “My Heritage” which brought amazing openings to her career with renowned media houses like CRTV, and BBC Africa making mention of her moves. In 2015 she won best female Artst at the Bui Music Awards (BMA).

In 2016 she was invited to The United States Of America by the Bui Community, and this marked another turning point in her Career. In partnership with Franco Records, she performed more than 20 events including major events like Pan African festval, Washington DC, Afri Fest in Houston and WAMAF in hustin Texas. She has performed alongside renowned names names like Ekambi Brilliant, Claude Ndam, Lady ponce, Annie Anzouer and even featuring Cameroonian icon and activist longue Longue in her 2017 song titled Overdone.

So far, she has released 25 songs filled with positve messages and timeless authenticity. Chilli Wawaye has succeeded to create a niche for herself, and her name is not uncommon in Cameroons big festivals like FOMARIC, FENAC, PROMOTE, FESTAC, NGONSO etc.

Chilli Wawaye seeks to feature, share stage and become one of the internationally renowned African acts like Miriam Makeba, Fatoumatou Diawara, Angelique Kidjo Afo Akom, Mr-Leo, Annie Anzuer, Asa, Simi etc.
