VIDEO:-Former England and Arsenal Legend Ian Wright criticizes Foreign media for disrespecting AFCON, Samuel Eto’o praises him

Sports - Latest Cameroon football and Sport news

Former England international and Arsenal legend Ian Wright went hard on those disrespecting the AFCON.

The former Arsenal player had this to say

“Is there a competition in the world that is more despised than the African Cup of Nations? There is no better honor for an athlete than to represent his country. Media coverage is completely tinged with racism. We played our Euro across ten countries in the middle of a pandemic. And there were no comments. But Cameroon, a country that organizes a tournament alone and we see problems there? Journalists and players are asked if they will honor the colors of their national team. If they will honor… Imagine that it was an English player who was asked if he would honor the colors of his selection… it would be all the rage…”

In response to this video, Samuel Eto’o Fils, president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), praised the courageous position of this former English player. For Eto’o, the CAN in Cameroon will be an opportunity to celebrate African pride.

“Respect Ian Wright! There is no greater honor for an athlete than to represent his country. The Africa Cup of Nations is a celebration of African pride, and next week’s CAN will once again prove the undeniable greatness of African players, “said Samuel Eto’o Fils on Twitter.
