Hosts Qatar eliminated after Netherlands play a 1-1 draw with Ecuador.

Netherlands opened the scoring just six minutes into the game. Klaassen did well to rein in a deflected pass, before feeding Gakpo. He took one step to the left before shooting with his left foot, and rifling the ball straight into the top corner, scoring his second of the tournament.

The draw means host Qatar is the first country to be eliminated from this year’s tournament.

Netherlands and Ecuador now sit joint first at the top of the Group with four points apiece. Senegal who defeated Qatar earlier today sit third with 3 points while Qatar are bottom of th group with 0 points.
