Fans have started questioning the where about of African football Legend Jay Jay Okocha who said no African country will make it to the second round at the 2022 Fifa world Cup.

In an interview in October 2022 few weeks to the official starting of FIFA World Cup 2022, Austin Jay Jay Okocha was interviewed on TV and when asked about his prediction for African teams, Jay Jay Okocha said 👇

“It’s the first time I’m not confident about Africa’s chances in the World Cup.

“If you look at Asia and North America, they seem stronger and more advanced than us. We were already 50 paces behind South America and Europe, and now North America and Asia seem to be ahead of us.

“We have hopes in Senegal and Morocco, they seem the strongest. Tunisia, Ghana and Cameroon seem to be a stepping stone for other teams to reach the knockout stages,” – Cantonsport.com quoted.

From the last paragraph, we can’t say Okocha was completely wrong as  Tunisia, Ghana and Cameroon were used as a “stepping stone” by getting eliminated just in the group stage. On the other hand, His hope in Morocco is paying off as Morocco becomes the first African team to qualify for a Fifa world cup semifinals in history after beating Portugal.
