“He didn’t like fighting… He wanted to be called American boy” – Francis N’gannou’s mother narrates how his son was obsessed with Iron Mike when growing up
Francis Ngannou’s mother has revealed his son was obsessed with Iron Mike when growing and wanted to be called ‘American Boy’.
As the FuryNgannou fight approaches, Francis Ngannou’s mother and brother were interviewed in a podcast which was uploaded on Ngannou’s YouTube channel.
“Francis was born and he was different from other children, everything he did was always different. Even at 5 years old he did what a 10 year old child could do.
He was never brutal, he didn’t like fighting but he could fight even with the banana trees in the bush!
He did everything that had to do with strength but he didn’t fight”
Ngannou’s mom also revealed that his son started doing things at the age of 5, which was quite different from kids thesame age.
“At 5 years old he carried the containers of a 10 year old child to fetch water, the wood he collected was always the big bundles. He worked hard”
“He always saw boxing films. He was refused, he always saw!
And he always talked about Mike Tyson, and at one point he told his brothers to call him “American Boy.” When his little sister called him American Boy, I asked her who is that? She told me that Francis asked her to always call him American boy. I said Honey, please dont call him that ever again”
