English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to rival another London side, Chelsea, for the signature of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian international has been linked with a move to the Blues since last summer after his impressive performance for Napoli in the Italian Serie A, last season.
Osimhen led the Parthenopeans to the league title last season after a 33-year wait and has picked up from where he left in the previous campaign this season.
The Super Eagles striker has scored six goals in eight league games this season.
Tottenham have been in search of a new striker since the departure of Harry Kane in the last summer transfer window, and are set to battle Chelsea for Osimhen’s services, according to a report by Spurs Web as per Soccernet
Chelsea’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino is one of the big admirers of Osimhen but could miss out on signing the Nigerian international next summer, with a lot of top clubs monitoring his progress at Napoli.
Tottenham could lose the battle to Chelsea and other top European clubs due to the huge transfer fee Napoli will request for the Super Eagles star.
Ange Postecoglu’s side could go for Brentford’s striker Ivan Toney if they miss out on the Nigerian striker.
Campbell urges Arteta to sign Osimhen
Kimbiblog Sports previously reported on Arsenal legend and former England international, Sol Campbell urging Mikel Arteta to sign Osimhen next summer.
The Nigerian’s performance for Napoli last season in the Serie A earned him the top scorer award as he led his club to their first Serie A title in 33 years.
Campbell, during a recent interview, has named the two strikers he feels Arsenal should aim for to bolster the squad next season – including Osimhen.
