A man named Edwin Sakala was given a ten-year prison sentence by a Zambian court for having sex with a mentally ill woman four years ago.
In March 2019, residents in Masala, Zambia, exposed Edwin for having intimate relationships with a mentally ill woman.
According to eyewitnesses, the man, who was 29 years old at the time, used to drag the woman into his apartment every night in order to have intimate relations with her, and he would then bring her out of the building early in the morning.

After neighbors who had been suspicious of Edwin began paying more attention to his movements and eventually caught him in the act, he met his Waterloo.
After four years of the case languishing, a judge found him guilty and sentenced him after Masala police arraigned him in court. But the mentally ill woman gave the convict the option to marry her.
