The renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has stated that the national honor bestowed to him by the Federal Government will not be taken for granted.
He expressed this while at long last responding to the public distinctions grant which was reported on Sunday by the Minsitry of Exceptional Obligations and Intergovernmental issues.
On Wednesday, May 31, Davido took to his Twitter page to express his happiness and noted that he felt honored to be recognized.
He claims that the award serves as a reminder of his mission, which has always been to highlight the passion, perseverance, and struggles of the people in the country
He was 339 prominent Nigerians listed as recipients of the 2023 national honours by ex-president Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
He wrote: “Honored to hear the news that I have been conferred with an OON (Officer of the Order of Nigeria) by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
“I am grateful for this recognition and honour. It has always been my mission to use my platform to showcase our country—the passion, the resilience, the joy, the culture and of course the struggles of our people. I do not take any of this for granted. We have one Nigeria and we will continue to do whatever we must to make it better!
