Davido, Victor Osimhen, and Kunle Afolayan are among the people in the entertainment industry who are being considered for the national award.
In a variety of cadres, the award was made public by the ministry of special duties and intergovernmental affairs.
The Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) was bestowed upon Davido.
The performer has amassed a significant amount of influence in the Nigerian music industry, which has contributed to the international recognition of Nigeria’s signature genre.
Afolayan, an expert producer whose creations are acclaimed to have prepared for the new Nollywood, was likewise granted the OON.
The US streaming service Netflix signed a three-film deal with Afolayan in March 2021, paving the way for other players in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding film industry.
Charles Okpaleke, a filmmaker who won an OON, was another celebrity in the entertainment industry who received an award.
An MFR (Member of The Order of the Federal Republic) was presented to Victor Osimhen, a Nigerian footballer who scored the goal that gave Napoli its first Serie A title in 33 years.
Terry Waya, a money manager who serves as a dad to Kiddwaya, an unscripted television star, was likewise granted in the OFR (Request of the Government Republic) unit.
All the honor beneficiaries were approached to send a delicate duplicate of their reference or resume to the service before May 31.
Additionally, they are expected to be physically present at the ceremony where their certificates and medals will be presented on June 1, 2023.
