After being postponed from March 11, 2023, the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections, which were held on March 18, 2023, again saw a disturbing level of violence, voter oppression and suppression, disenfranchisement, and other irregularities in some Nigerian states, Lagos being a major example.
Celebrities are speaking out about the “show of shame” in the megacity known as Lagos after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) delayed elections at 10 polling units in Lagos due to a number of irregularities.

Falz, who took to Twitter on election day, condemned the voter’s oppression and violence, as well as the activities of the electoral body, INEC. In a series of tweets, he wrote:
