Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, better known as Omah Lay, has candidly revealed the mental health challenges he faced after achieving fame.

Speaking in a recent interview, the ‘Reason’ crooner shared that he felt overwhelmed by the sudden surge of popularity and the pressure to meet societal expectations and please fans, which took a significant toll on his mental well-being.

He mentioned that it took time for him to adjust, but he eventually learned the importance of moving at his own pace for the sake of his well-being and artistic growth.

According to him, embracing his own rhythm has not only brought him peace of mind but has also enriched his life and music.

In his words;

“At first I struggled, and it put me in a bad mental state because I was still trying to learn my ways. However, with time, I got comfortable and learned that I should move at my own pace. As soon as I realised that, I became much stronger and began to enjoy my life more.

“If I can put my vulnerabilities in my song, then I can talk about them. My music is all about my real life experiences, and I know the world is listening to it.”
