Charles Chibuezechukwu, known by his stage name Crayon, has shared a story about how a landlord once kicked out his family after they failed to pay the rent.
He claimed the incident took place in 2013 and their property rent at the time was N18,000.
The singer of “Trench To Triumph” claimed that after being evicted from the home, they proceeded to stay at a church member’s home but discovered that they were both in arrears on their rent and the landlord evicted them as well.
Popular singer, Charles Chibuezechukwu, aka Crayon, has recounted how a landlord once evicted his family from his property after his parents were unable to renew the rent.
He said the incident happened in 2013 and their house rent was N18,000 then.
The ‘Trench To Triumph’ crooner said after they were evicted from the house, they went to stay at one of their church members’ house and it turned out that the person was also owing rent too and the landlord also threw them out.
He disclosed this in a recent interview with MTV Base.
Crayon said, “What happened is, our church member was living in a house before so she wanted to move out of the house. And we were looking for a house because they gave us a deadline to move from our former house.
“So, our church member told us that okay, you guys can move into the house. We did not know all along that she was owing rent. And we had a deadline. My dad already signed a tenancy with the landlord because the landlady was going crazy.
“So, five days before , we moved and then we got to the house. It was still a ‘face-me-I-face-you’. And then I think one of the tenants called the landlord like, ‘Yo, somebody just moved into your house.’ And then the landlord came and threw our things out. We started begging. I was f*cking depressed looking at my mom and dad being down in front of a normal man.
“Guess how much was the rent? N18k. This was 2013/2014.”
