Skales has spoken out about his personal life, family and how Olamide helped his career.
Skales revealed to media personality Chude Jideonwo how he went bankrupt after leaving his record company, E.M.E, which was run by Banky W.
Despite the fact that his contract with the label had expired, he alleged that they refused to renew it because he was not performing well for the label.
Skales said that he became homeless and broke as a result of the incident, but a phone call from Olamide altered his life.
At the time, he had published his successful song, ‘Shake Body’, and Olamide, who liked the music, contacted him to check when the video would be released.
Skales added that he told Olamide about his condition and that he sent him money for the video.
The music video was a hit, and it signalled the beginning of his comeback.
“My deal with them was done and they refused to continue because I wasn’t doing well at that time.
“Olamide contacted me and said he loved one of my songs, Shake Body, and asked if I wasn’t going to shoot the video.
“I told him I was homeless and couldn’t possibly shoot a video and he sent me money.
“My God turned my life around after that video shoot.”
