The 2018 event that saw the two Afrobeats stars share a stage together for the first time ever was an iconic moment for Nigerian music.
Nigerian event promoter, creative industry expert, and entrepreneur, Adesegun Adeosun Jnr, popularly known as Smade, has given a detailed background story of how Wizkid and Davido performed together for the first time ever in London.
The CEO of Smade Events, who is known to be at the forefront of organizing Afrocentric events in the UK and other parts of the world, gave the backstory for the iconic moment during an interview with ace media personality Adesope Olajide.
According to Smade, the event, which was a Davido headline sold-out show in Brixton, London, in 2018, coincidentally had Wizkid in town, and the starboy had jokingly spoken to the promoter about the frenzy that his appearance at the venue will cause, a joke that eventually came to pass.
Narrating the iconic event, Smade stated that the incident almost didn’t occur due to how packed the sold-out show was, but somehow God intervened and the Afrobeats scene took off massively due to Davido and Wizkid’s performance in London that day.
This comes after Wizkid recently announced that he will be going on a joint tour with Davido after his ‘More Love, Less Ego’ tour.
