Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer, Asake has revealed the significance of the Yoruba language to him in a recent interview.
Speaking on ABC News Live, Asake said that the Yoruba language is very important to him because there are a lot of people who understand it.
Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, also talked about his unique approach to creating music.
According to him, he understands music as a feeling that can be expressed beyond comprehension.
He said that sometimes, one does not need to understand the lyrics of a song to feel the emotion behind it.
“Yoruba is so important to me and there are a lot of people that understand it.
“And to me, the way that I understand music is a feeling. Sometimes you don’t need to understand it,” he said.
