The British Phonographic Industry music award body (Brit Awards) has acknowledged Nigerian Afrobeat musician Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid, for his most recent triumph in the UK.
For his innovative work in breaking the UK Afrobeats record, Big Wiz gains honorable recognition at the Brit Awards. The celebrated talent is the first vocalist of Afrobeats to achieve a key milestone in the UK.
The Starboy Entertainment owner and frontline ace recently headlined and performed at London’s 62,850-seat Tottenham Stadium, making him the first and only African musician to do so.
Update: On Monday, July 31, 2023, the official Brit Awards Twitter page announced that the Afrobeats superstar has received the prestigious Brit Billion Award for accumulating an astounding one billion streams in the United Kingdom.
