Award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has landed in Lagos, Nigeria, in preparation for the funeral of his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun.
The singer’s mother passed away suddenly on Friday, August 18, as confirmed by his longtime manager, Sunday Are.
Almost two months after her tragic death, the family announced her funeral arrangements via an e-flyer shared on social media.
A wake and tribute will be held in her honour on Thursday, October 12, following which she will be laid to rest on Friday.
Ahead of the funeral, Wizkid was spotted at an airport in Nigeria upon his return to the country after several weeks of being away.

In 2021, Wizkid’s mother thrilled guest with her dance moves at the birthday party of the singer’s first son, Boluwatife.
The first son of the superstar singer, Bolu turned 10 on May 13th and a stylish party was hosted to celebrate him.
Wizkid’s mum, Jane Dolapo was present at the event, and the elated grandma scattered the dance floor with her ‘shaku shaku’ dance move.
In a video from the party that was shared on social media, Wizkid’s mother could be seen dancing as kids surrounded her. Immediately she busted the popular ‘shaku shaku’ dance move the crowd screamed in excitement.
