17-Year-old Clervie Ngoungoue has returned to Cameroon, her country of origin, after her successes at the 2023 French Open Girls’ doubles tournament.

Ngounoue was born in Washington, D.C., to Cameroonian parents. Clervie demonstrated an innate talent for the sport, and her family recognized her potential and supported her dream of becoming a professional tennis player. Her father, Aimé Ngounoue, is one of her coaches and has been guiding her to achieve her dream of becoming a professional tennis player.

Clervie Ngoungoue, who is ranked as the world number 2 in the ITF Junior rankings, first gained the spotlight after winning the 2022 Australian Open girls’ doubles event, partnering with Diana Shnaider.
