Africa begins it’s World Cup journey today as Senegal take on Netherlands, see players to watch, possible line ups.

Africa begins it’s world cup journey today as African champions Senegal take on the a star studded Netherlands outfit at 5:00 pm.

 

Senegal will be without star forward and current African player of the year Sadio Mane who suffered an injury before the tournament began and underwent surgery.

Senegal are making their 3rd World Cup participation after participating for the first time in the 2002 edition where they were eliminated in the Quarter finals, 2018 in Russia where they suffered a group stage elimination.

Looking at Senegal’s squad, they can still go all the way without Mane as they have many players playing for the big European clubs.

The 24 year old Watford winger will surely be a torn in Netherlands flesh with his pace and quick feet. Sarr has 6 goals and 4 assists with Watford this season in the championship.

Netherlands: Steve Bergwijn

25 year old Steven Bergwijn who plays for Ajax Amsterdam in Netherlands has been in superb form this season. The winger has 8 goals and 3 assists for Ajax this season in the Eredivisie and 2 in the Champions League.
