All Cameroonian footballers who have ever been nominated for the Ballon d’Or in the Award’s history and the Years
Cameroonian footballers have been nominated for Ballon d’or 12 times since the award was made eligible for Non European footballers in 1995.
Geremi Njitap and Patrick Mboma were the first ever Cameroonians to be nominated for the award in the year 2000 even though they never received a single vote.
Samuel Eto’o has the most Ballon d’or nominations of any Cameroonian footballer. He has been nominated for the award a whooping nine times.
The nine times doesn’t only make him the most nominated Cameroonian footballer but also the most nominated African footballer in history.
Andre Onana became the latest name on the historical list yesterday after he was nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
