Bryan Mbeumo reveals his reason for choosing to represent Cameroon over France
Bryan Mbeumo reveals his reason for choosing to represent Cameroon over France in an interview with Brentford FC Media.
It was confirmed on Friday by the Cameroon football federation that Brentford FC attacker Bryan Mbeumo has agreed to represent the Cameroon National team.
The Brentford FC star forward who clocks 23 today has been on the radar of the Indomitable Lions technical staff and FECAFOOT for a long time now.
Speaking to his clubs official Media, Mbeumo shed some more light on why he chose the Cameroon national team

“My dad is Cameroonian, and I remember when I was very young, I used to watch the African Cup of Nations [AFCON] with him. I said I wanted to play with them one day. When I grew up, I got called up to France and I was very happy. I feel very French but the Cameroon team was on me as well, I’ve been there twice now and I feel very good there. My family enjoy being there, too.” He quoted
Mbeumo also revealed that playing the World Cup is dream for him and he will also be happy if he won the AFCON trophy with Cameroon.
“To be between these two nations, it means a lot to me. It’s a very proud moment for my family. It’s my dream to play at the World Cup, that would be very good, but if I won a trophy like the AFCON, I would be very happy” he said talking on Brentford FC.
After his switch was announced by Fecafoot, Mbeumo took to his social media handles to acknowledged his joy in accepting to represent the Cameroon national team.
“It is with great pride and joy that I have chosen to represent the colors of my origins which are Cameroon”
He also thanked the French Youth team’s staff and team mates which he represented at Junior level
“I would still like to thank the young French teams in which I played, the staff and my teammates for this experience and these moments” continued the winger
“I am now ready and impatient to start this adventure under the colors of @fecafootofficiel!” He concluded

Mbeumo was involved in 11 goals( 4 goals, 7 assists) for Brentford in the English Premier league last season.
