Cameroon is among the 21 African countries eligible to vote for the 2022 Ballon d’or according to the latest changes.

France Football have made some changes to the Ballon d’or. The Ballon d’or will now be given based on players season not calendar year as it was before.
This means the ballon d’or will now be given in October after European season football has been concluded.

Amongst the new changes is the fact that only Countries whose National teams are in the Top 100 FIFA rankings will be eligible to vote for the men’s ballon d’or and Top 50 for Women’s Ballon d’or.

Putting this into context, 21 African countries are in the Top 100 FIFA rankings and all those countries will be eligible to vote for the ballon d’or. The voting for this years ballon d’or starts in 2 months time.
