Cameroon born basketball player Joel Embid wants to represent the French National team at the international level.

Joël Embiid, Cameroonian basketball player and pivot of the Philadelphia (NBA) team, is taking steps to naturalized in France.

The French National basketball team director Boris Diaw has confirmed the players intentions in his latest interview with L’Equipe.

“I know that he has personally taken naturalization steps and that he would then like to be able to play for France. That being said, we do not put the cart before the horse and we expect these steps to succeed, “said Diaw.
The player wants to represent France at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The player has been one of the best players in the NBA this season and is also in contention to be named NBA player of the season.
