Francis Ngannou will defend his UFC title against Interim champion Cyril Gane at UFC 270.

The fight will be Francis Ngannou’s first title defense since winning the title against Stipe Miocic in round 2 through Knock out and will also be the first UFC matchup in 2022.

Francis Ngannou was initially scheduled to defend his title against Derrick Lewis but a date could not be agreed. The fight was scheduled for August but Francis Ngannou opted for September after going on holidays to his County Cameroon.

Now the former training partners are expected to meet with only one of them walking away with a UFC heavyweight title with the fight now expected to take place in January 22.

At this time, there’s no location set for UFC 270, although it’s expected the event will take place in the United States.
