Giroud scores brace as France come from behind to defeat Australia 4-1
Rabiot, Giroud and Kylian Mbappe score as France stroll pass Australia in their 2022 World Cup match.
France will be looking to become the first nation to qualify for the knock out stage of the World Cup after winning the previous edition of the tournament in 20 years.
Craig Goodwin gave the Socceroos and early lead just 9 minutes into the game after getting at the end of Mathew Leckie cross, placing it into the top right corner.
The World champions showed why they came into the tournament as one of the favorites as Rabiot headed in a Theo Hernandez to put the European giants back on level terms.
France added their the second just five minutes later through Olivier Giroud who tapped the ball into an empty net from a Rabiot assist after an error from the Australian defence.
Mbappe scored the third for France just four minutes past the hour from a header after getting at the end of an Ousman Dembele cross to make it 3-1 for Les Bleus. The 23 year old PSG forward now has five FIFA World Cup carreer goals, four in 2018 and one so far in 2022.
Giroud got his second of the evening and France fourth from a Kylian Mbappe cross which he made no mistake in heading it home.
France currently sit top of the group with 3 points while Denmark and Tunisia who played a goalless draw earlier today are level with one point each.
