Netherlands are through to the Quarter finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after their -1 win over USA.

The Netherlands will play the winners of the Argentina vs Australia match in the Quarter finals.

It took just 14 minutes for Depay to open the scoring for USA. A brilliant sweeping move of one-touch passing and movement put the Netherlands in front! At the end of a rhythmic passing sequence which sliced through the US defence, Depay received the ball from Dumfries on the edge of the area and buried it in the bottom-left corner.

Daley Blind doubled the lead for the Dutch in the first half added time. Outwitting on the right byline, following a throw-in, Dumfries unlocked the States’ defence once again. The wing-back cut the ball back for Blind – chasing in from the opposite flank – who slotted the ball into the bottom corner for his side’s second goal.

Wright got one back for USA in the 75th minute with a beautiful finish from a difficult angle after receiving low cross from Cristian Pulisic.

It took just five for Dumfries who was involved in the first two goals to put Netherlands back in a comfortable lead as he scored their third of the afternoon. Unmarked inside the box, He was at the receiving end of a Daley Blind cross and he made no mistake in tapping it pass the keeper.
