Neymar scores as Brazil defeat South Korea 4-1 to qualify for the quarter finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Brazil scored four first half goals to book their place in the quarter finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

They will play Croatia in the quarter finals who won their clash with Japan 3-1 on penalty shoot-out.

Vinicius Jr, Neymar and Paqueta their scored their first goals of the tournament while Richarlson scored his third goal.

It did not take long for Brazil get ahead. Raphinha die superb work down the right flank before pulling it back across goal for Vinicius at the back post. He took a touch, steadied himself and then put the ball into the top right corner of the back of the net.

Neymar made it 2-0 with an ice-cold penalty. He rolled his effort into the bottom right corner of the back of the neat with real ease.

Just before the half hour mark, Richarlison scored to make it 3-0 to Brazil. He showed amazing skill to beat his man before passing to Marquinhos, who in turn and played the ball to Thiago Silva. He then played through Richarlison, who finished clinically to increase his team’s lead.

Brazil got their fourth just before the break. Richarlison carried the ball forward from deep before finding Neymar, who in turn plays in Vinicius. He then pulled the ball back across the face of goal for the oncoming Paqueta, who finishes superbly.

Japan got a consolation goal in the 76th minute. Seung-Ho Paik pulled one back for Korea Republic to make it 4-1. The ball was whipped in from a free-kick and cleared as far as Paik at the edge of the area. He took a touch and unleashed a fine half-volley that arrowed past Alisson and hits the back of the net.
