Phillbill – Bikossa feat. Styfler, Ego & Prido.

Phillbill makes a remarkable entry into 2023 with his new collabo “Bikossa” featuring Styfler, Ego & Prido.  “AfroBikossa” is a creation by Phillbill blending Cameroonian original sounds like ambass bey, assiko, bolobo, rumba, esewe, merengue and makassi. These rhythms are in present day hits like:

Today, he is back with the new single set to rock the foundations of Cameroon. Thus Phillbill makes use of young artists to freshen up the hit. For Phillbill, it is about upholding Cameroonian musical culture in the new era.

Phillbill is a composer and performer born in Buea, in the English-speaking South West region of Cameroon, to a Cameroonian father and a Nigerian mother. He did his secondary studies at the bilingual high school in Buea, then he joined the city’s university, where he did his higher education. In 2008, he left Cameroon for Nigeria to study music production. Phillbill is the co-founder of the group Ridimz (Rythmz) which he founded in 2008 with two friends: K-Master-K and Dr Nkeng Stephens. The group, which quickly became a duo with the departure of Nkeng Stephens, became known in 2012 thanks to the title “Honeymoon”. He went on to hit singles in 2016 and released his first EP entitled Addiction in 2018.

Alongside his career, Phillbill embarked on music production in 2010.He produced songs under the patronymic Phillbillbeatz. He composes music for his group Ridimz but is best known for having produced several Cameroonian urban songs and worked for many renowned artists including Daphne, Blanche Bailly, Locko, Coco Argentée, Lady Ponce, KO-C, Mink’s Mimie and Numerica and X-Maleya. Phillbill specializes in Afropop and Afro-Bikossa music and in 2022 he is one of the most prolific beatmakers on the Cameroonian music scene.
