Rigobert Song unveiled the list of 22 Players that will feature for Cameroon in the friendly match against Mexico in a press conference yesterday June 1st.

The notable absentees on the list are Vincent Aboubakar, Choupo Moting, Zambo Anguissa and Jean Charles Castelleto.

The Indomitable Lions coach later explained his reason for not selecting the players.

“Vincent Aboubakar has an important match to play on the 7th in Turkey. I can’t see myself bringing in an attacker on the 8th who will arrive on the 9th and play on the 10th. We have to be reasonable.” explained Rigobert Song

“Maxim Choupo-Moting has been struggling with injury all this while. I spoke with him and he thought it wise that he should have some rest.” he continued.

Jean Charles Castelleto and Christopher Wooh are also out due to Injury while Zambo Anguissa is being rested after a long season.

Rigobert Song also talked about Andre Onana who will be playing the UEFA Champions League finals on thesame day as the Cameroon vs Mexico friendly

“Andre Onana is an important player . He has not excluded from the squad.Like i say everyday, It’s him who had excluded himself. Regardless ,he remains an important player for the team and like i said in previous press conferences, the door is always open for him.The ball is in his court but he remains the only person to know what he wants.”

“What you don’t know is that I speak regularly with Andre Onana on phone on the bases of Big brother, Little Brother. We have no problem. He knows what to if he has to return to the National Team.”
