New elected FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o believes there’s no reason for the AFCON to be postponed.

There have been increasing reports this week about the possibility of the AFCON which is scheduled for next to be postponed with the FIFA president also supporting the idea.

“Why won’t it take place? I don’t see why it won’t take place. I don’t even know that this way of doing things or wanting to do it is responsible. The Federation, in any case, which I represent, will defend with the utmost energy the holding of this African Cup, “said Samuel Eto’o. “If the euro was decided while we were in the midst of a pandemic with full stadiums, there were no incidents, it was decided in several cities in Europe, why wouldn’t the Africa Cup be played out in Cameroon? Give me only one valid reason. Or else we are being told that, as we have always been treated, we are less than nothing so we must undergo. Let us be told things clearly. But I am still saying what is difficult about this way of doing things is that some Africans are still complicit,” denounced Samuel Eto’o.
