VIDEO:-“Cameroon is no longer scary” Former Malian international Fousseni Diawara
Formed Malian international Fousseni Diawara believes Cameroon has lost its fear factor and shouldn’t scare any team.
Cameroon secured their 2023 AFCON qualification on the final day after a 3-0 win over Burundi.
However, the win was not convincing for Canal+ Sport consultant Fousseni Diawara.
The former Malian defender spoke about Cameroon’s qualification in the Canal+ Sport show Les Grandes Bouches on Thursday.
“Today, Cameroon is no longer scary(…) Burundi is a good team(..), they demonstrated it during their last match against Cameroon, but it’s a team that has qualified only one time for the AFCON”
He continued “Without disrespecting Namibia and Burundi, Cameroon is light years ahead of them. We are talking about a Nation with 5 AFCON titles. They are just from participating in the World Cup. After the World Cup people were praising them because they defeated defeating Brazil, saying Cameroon remains a great footballing Nation because of the titles they won in Africa. But for me Cameroon shouldn’t scare any team. They shouldn’t wait for the last day of the Qualifiers to qualify from a 3 team group”
