VIDEO: Jerome Ngom Mbekeli scores first goal for Sheriff in their 3-0 over FCV Farul Constanta in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League First qualifying round
Indomitable Lions attacker Jerome Ngom Mbekeli was on the score sheet yesterday as his Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol defeated Roumanian club FCV Farul Constanta 3-0 in the first qualifying round of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.
It’s his first goal for the club since he completed his transfer from transfer from Belgium Second division side SK Beveren earlier this month.
FCV Farul Constanta came into the match with a 1-0 first leg home lead. It was only until first half added time that Amini Talal opened the scoring for Sheriff to put them level on aggregate.
After a goalless second half, the match headed to extra time, with Jerome Mbekeli getting on the score sheet in the 99th minute after a brilliant counter attack.
Peter Oluwaseun Ademo added a third for Sheriff three minutes later to seal the victory for Sheriff Tiraspol.
