Samuel Eto’o was full of praises for Senegalese star Sadio Mane during a press conference in Dakar, Senegal.

The four time African player of the year winner and now FECAFOOT president sees Sadio Mane as the best player in the World.

“We have the best footballer in the world. Sadio Mané is better than all the others. Qatar 2022 is the Africa World Cup,” said the former Barcelona player

Sadio Mane was crowned 2022 African Best player last month during the CAF awards. The Senegalese international is having a year to remember so far, he guided Senegal to their first ever African Nations Cup title earlier this year. He also helped Senegal to qualify for their second consecutive FIFA World Cup appearance after they defeated Egypt in the World Cup Play offs. For Liverpool, Sadio Mane won the League Cup and FA Cup. He also came close to winning the Champions League and Premier League title, loosing the League title to Manchester City on the last day by one point before getting defeated by Real Madrid in the Champions league finals.

Amongst other things, Eto’o also commented on Napoli’s president comments on not signing any African player unless they sign an agreement not to participate in the African Cup of Nations.

“I think our coach Aliou Cissé has taken a position. But we defend African football. So our position is contrary to the one that the President of Napoli wanted to show the world. He is the boss of Napoli, I know I have one of the best Cameroonian players who play there and who is one of the best African players. And if my coach believes that this player should bring us something during the next games, but listen, he will be summoned. And he will be required to respond present to his convocation.
