Cameroon will be without two of their best players for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers first leg this month against Namibia. Vincent Aboubakar and CHOUPO Moting won’t be available.
Choupo Moting joins Vincent Aboubakar as the players who will be unavailable for Cameroon’s clash against Namibia on March 24th, in Yaoundé.
Vincent Aboubakar is sidelined for the first leg because of a red card he received during Cameroon’s 1-0 win over Brazil on the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He received a second yellow card for taking off shirt after scoring a last minute winner. He was already on a yellow card.
Choupo Moting is sidelined for both legs with a back pain injury. The 33 year old picked up the injury during Bayern Munich 2-0 victory over PSG in the Champions League two weeks ago. He has already missed Bayern Munich last two matches and will be unavailable for the international break.
Rigobert Song has not selected a replacement for the striker yet but he has Players like Georges Kevin Nkoudou and Porto’s Daniel Namasso to choose from.
