This is his third spell at the club. He first joined the Turkish side in 2016 on loan for one season from Porto and scored 12 goals in 33 appearances for them. His second spell at the club was in 2020 when he signed for them from Porto and went on to score 15 goals in 26 appearances before moving to Al Nassr in 2021.

Besiktas currently sit third on the Turkish Super league table with 38 points, five points below first placed Galassatarry.
