Vincent Aboubakar revealed during an interview with Canal plus Sport that he used to be a Goalkeeper when growing up.

“When I was a kid, I played as a goalkeeper. That’s why they named me Ekongolo(a very popular keeper who used to play for Étoile Filante of Garoua), childhood nickname…. I also played as a center-back and as a defensive midfielder…. I was repositioned as 8 then finally settled as 10 shirt.
