The 28th edition of the race of Hope took place on February 25th, 2023. The Mount Cameroon Race of Hope is an annual, televised footrace held at Mount Cameroon in the Southwest Region of Cameroon in January or February.  This year, 2023 edition held in South West Region.

14 Countries To Challenge the Mountain

So far, 13 foreign Countries have announced their intention to sent athletes to Cameroon for the race.

The athletes who will take on the 38km footrace to challenge the chariots of God are expected from Kenya, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Chad, France, Uganda, Congo, Gabon, Ethiopia, Tanzania, United States of America, Tunisia and Morocco.

The two winners will receive 10,000,000 ( 10 million francs each )

Nineteen athletes have been brought to our facility with injuries. We have operated upon three of them. Their condition is stable and we haven’t recorded any deaths,” Martin Mokake, the director of Buea Regional Hospital, told Reuters by phone.

The male winner of Mount Cameroon race of hope 2023 is Adamou Issa Bouba.

32-year-old Adamou Issa Bouba is winner of the Mount Cameroon race of hope for the very first time.

Adamou Issa Bouba who hails from Donga Mantung division in the North West region came 3rd in 2022. Congratulations to them.

The Female winner of Mount Cameroon race of hope 2023 is Tata Carine

Tata Carine is winner of the 2023 Mount Cameroon race of hope in the women’s category.

The 25 year old who hails from the North West region won the race in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and today, 2023.
